Frequently asked
How cold does it really get?+
Nights can drop to -20°C or lower. We stay in homestays with wood stoves and provide guidance on layering so you stay warm and safe throughout.
Are the roads open in winter?+
Spiti is accessed via the Kinnaur route in winter (the Manali side is closed by snow). Our drivers are seasoned in snow driving and we build in buffer time for weather.
Do I need prior winter experience?+
No, but reasonable fitness and a tolerance for cold and basic amenities are essential. We brief you thoroughly before departure.
